	Ambassador Attends Brunch Invitation Held by Premier of Western Cape

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Hisham Al-Alawi attended on 10/2/2012, a brunch invitation held by, the Premier of Western Cape Province and leader of the opposition Democratic Alliance party Ms. Helen Zille. The brunch was also attended by a number of Ministers of the region and a group of Arab and foreign ambassadors accredited in South Africa.


The Premier gave a speech welcoming the presence and touched on the State of the Nation Address of President Zuma addressed at the opening session of Parliament the day before and commended the mention of the problems and challenges facing South Africa and the suggested solutions, yet did not touch upon the practical steps to achieve those solutions.


Mrs. Zille elaborated on the priorities of the local government to create an investment friendly environment in the region, pointing to the region’s great potential and the need to communicate with other countries to promote investment opportunities and support the private sector and infrastructure development in order to ensure the reduction of unemployment and poverty.
