	Ambassador Meets DDG; Head of Asia and Middle East Department in DIRCO

H.E Ambassador Dr. Hisham Alalawi and H.E. Ambassador Bakr Ahmed Aziz Ahmed Bakr, Head of Africa Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs met on 6/2/2012 with Mr. Anil Suklal, Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Asia and the Middle East in the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation in South African at the request of the Ambassador. Ambassador Al-Alawi discussed the capabilities of Iraq and the areas of cooperation between the Iraqi government and South Africa in the areas of economy, security, education and health. He also pointed out the importance the African continent and South Africa in particular to the government of Iraq and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mr. Suklal thanked the Ambassadors and noted that the democratic transition in Iraq was admired by the Republic of South Africa and that a stable and prosperous Iraq is necessary in the region and that Iraq is an important country for South Africa.


in conclusion, the Ambassadors presented a memorial gift to Mr. Suklal and wished him all the best in his newly assumed position.
