Iraq participates in the Climate Change Conference of the Parties COP17 in South Africa

An Iraqi delegation including the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq Dr. Hisham Al-Alawi, participated in the Seventeenth Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which was held in the city of Durban in South Africa for the period from 28/11 to 09/12/2011.

The Iraqi delegation to the conference was led by Dr. Kamal Hussein Latif, Deputy Minister of Environment for Technical Affairs. The team also included a number of employees of the environment ministry as well as representatives of other Iraqi ministries such as the Ministry of Oil and Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
