Today marks the second anniversary the terrorist attack witnessed by the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ building, a violent act that caused the death of 45 employees and left many others wounded.
Now as we recall this vicious act we pay tributes to its victims and proudly remember the achievements of the ministry in reconstructing its building after being severely damaged and to the employees who stood in the face of destruction under the close directions of His Excellency Foreign Minister Mr. Hoshyar Zebari who was perseverant in following the reconstruction process until the building was opened in less than a year and became as active as it was before the explosion.
May God bless the souls of the martyrs and rest them in peace. We shall always remember them in our hearts and may their memory enlighten our path in building a democratic system in Iraq, one that respects the rights and preserves the dignity of the citizens and brings back Iraq’s unique role in the region and the world.
