Turin - Baghdad "Fifty years of cooperation between Iraq and Italy "

On the 12th of March 2012, HE the Ambassador Dr. Saywan Barzani, delegated the Minister Plenipotentiary at the Embassy, Mr. shamil Al Khateeb, to attend a comprehensive conference organized by (SCAVI) Centre in Turin titled Turin - Baghdad "Fifty years of cooperation between Iraq and Italy " , under the auspices of the University of Turin and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The conference was attended by a delegation from the Ministry of Tourism and Archeology headed by the Ministers adviser Mr. Bahaa Al Mayah, the President of the Institute of Archeology, Dr. Rashid Qais and President of the Iraqi Museum, Ms. Amira Idan.


Mr. Al Khateeb delivered a speech at the conference in which he praised the cooperation between Iraq and Italy in all fields, especially the cultural field which is highly appreciated by the Iraqi authorities and pointed to the Italian initiatives in the rehabilitation of Iraqi museums, training of specialized personnel and restore some of the stolen antiquities.
