The Ambassador’s meeting with the Italian Foreign Minister’s envoy for the Middle East, Morocco and the Persian Gulf.

On Tuesday, 31/1/2012 the Ambassador Dr.Saywan Barzani met, in his office at the embassy, the Italian Foreign Minister’s envoy for the Middle East, Morocco and the Persian Gulf , Minister Plenipotentiary, Mr. Maurizio Massari upon request of the latter. Mr. Massari explained the nature of his duties as envoy for the Italian Foreign Minister and his will to understand the roles of relevant countries in the region and to activate the Italian role. He listened to the Ambassador’s explanation on the Iraqi position regarding the issues in the Arabic world and the region, particularly the situation in which is taken under special attention and consideration by the Italian authorities.

The Ambassador welcomed this visit and expressed the appreciation of the Iraqi government to the Italian counterpart for its stands in developing the political process in Iraq and its support for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the country as well as its role in the region.
